Graveyard Keeper 2 appearance: repair the mirror

Hair, beard and colours are free from the start; all you need is a working mirror. The dresser repair, its materials, and the quest behind every outfit.

The short answer

Research Suit Up! for 15 red points once you have Woodworking I, then repair the broken dresser in your house by building the Dresser with mirror: 4 Wooden Planks, 2 Bronze Details and 2 Glass. Use the mirror to change hairstyle, beard, hair and skin colour, and to pick any outfit you have unlocked. Outfits come from quests and are purely cosmetic.

What you can change

The mirror covers your keeper’s face and clothes. Hairstyle, beard, hair colour and head colour are all available from the start, with no unlocks needed. Outfit colours can be changed too, but only for outfits you have already unlocked.

There is no stat attached to any of it. Outfits are purely cosmetic, and when you enter a battle the game automatically puts your armor on instead, so you will not lose a fight because you chose the farmer’s look.

Repairing the dresser

The broken dresser is already in your house. Suit Up! is the technology that lets you fix it; it costs 15 red points and sits after Woodworking I in the Building tree. Once researched, build the Dresser with mirror from the house build desk. The repair happens instantly when you place it.

The materials are all early-game items, but they come from three different stations, which is what slows people down. Plan the three small chains together and it is one afternoon’s work.

Field note: Sand is found at the riverside. Make a few extra Glass while the furnace is hot; the Resurrection Table later wants 4.

Every outfit and how to get it

Researching Suit Up! gives you the Keeper’s Clothes straight away. The rest come from story quests, mostly early ones, so you will have several before the town opens. If you load an older save, outfits for quests you already finished are granted automatically.

The pre-order bonus

If you pre-ordered, there are two extras. The Special Clothes costume sits in the dresser in the keeper’s house, and the Sauna is just over the bridge. The costume only comes in one colour.

A launch-day hotfix on September 22 dealt with pre-order content turning up in some existing saves where it should not have. If you did not pre-order and found the costume anyway in launch week, that was the bug.

Outfits follow the story

Because outfits are quest rewards, your wardrobe is a rough map of how far you are through the opening. Herm’s wheat gives the Farmer’s Clothes, Jack’s boat the Blacksmith’s Clothes, the church the Priest’s Clothes, the Plague Doctor the Alchemist’s Clothes, and Swords and Bell the Pilgrim’s Clothes. All five come from quests in the opening chapters.

You do not need the mirror to earn them. The unlock happens when the quest completes, and the outfits simply wait in the wardrobe until the dresser is repaired.

The material chains, step by step

Planks: saw a log into a Board at the Sawhorse, then make a Wooden Plank from each Board at Woodworking Workbench I. Four logs, four boards, four planks. Herm also buys spare planks, so making a few extra is never wasted.

Bronze Details: buy or find Bronze Scrap, smelt 3 Scrap with 20 Fuel into 2 Bronze Ingots at a furnace, then forge details at the anvil. You need the Bronze Works, Melting and Bronze Craft nodes, about 45 red points in total, which you will want early for church repairs and Jack’s boat anyway.

Glass: dig Sand at the riverside and smelt it, 3 Sand per Glass, at a furnace with fuel or at a Smithy with coal. Fuel comes from a Firewood Shed, which turns 2 Firewood into 20 Fuel.

  • Log → Board (Sawhorse) → Wooden Plank (Workbench I).
  • Bronze Scrap + Fuel → Bronze Ingot (Furnace) → Bronze Detail (anvil).
  • Sand + Fuel or Coal → Glass (Furnace or Smithy).

A one-session plan

Start the furnace first, because it is the slowest part. Load it with Bronze Scrap and Fuel for ingots, then walk to the riverside for Sand while it works. Back at base, saw four logs into Boards at the Sawhorse and queue four Wooden Planks at the bench.

By then the ingots are done. Swap the furnace over to Glass, forge two Bronze Details at the anvil while the glass melts, and collect everything. Walk into the house, open the build desk, place the Dresser with mirror, and you are at the mirror before the in-game day is over.

If you have a zombie on the sawhorse or bench already, let it handle the planks while you deal with the metal and glass. The whole job then fits into one trip to the river.

Field note: Queue the Glass before you leave for the river. Benches start on their own once the Sand arrives in the furnace.

Is it worth doing early?

Strictly speaking, no: nothing in the game needs a different haircut. But Suit Up! is cheap, the materials overlap with things you are making anyway, and the Keeper’s Clothes unlock as soon as you research it. Many players do it the first time they have a spare 15 red points and a free furnace.

If red points are tight because you are racing for Bronze Craft or the stone techs, leave it for a week. The dresser will still be broken when you get back.

Common questions

Do outfits give any bonus?+

No. All outfits are cosmetic. Battles automatically equip your armor.

Can I change my hair from the start?+

Yes, once the mirror is repaired. Hairstyles, beards, hair colour and head colour are all unlocked from the start.

Why can I not recolour an outfit?+

Colour options only appear for outfits you have unlocked. The pre-order Special Clothes come in a single colour.

Where is the pre-order costume?+

In the dresser in the keeper’s house. The other pre-order bonus, the Sauna, is just over the bridge.

What does Suit Up! cost?+

15 red technology points, after Woodworking I.

Will I lose outfits from an older save?+

No. Outfits for quests you already completed are granted to existing saves.

Can I unlock outfits before the mirror is repaired?+

Yes. Quest rewards unlock outfits whether or not the dresser is fixed. You need the repaired mirror to wear them.
